How does a computer get on a workgroup setting and how do you get your computer off of one?

I am confused about my computer being on a workgroup setting and I am not sure how to get it off of it since it belongs to me and I have no group set up on it as I know of?

  1. Right click on My Computer

    Click properties

    Click on the Computer Name tab

    Click on Change...

    Click on the second bubble at the bottom

    If it says anything other than WORKGROUP in this bubble then change it back to WORKGROUP. If it does say that then change it to something such as MSWORK
