How does a credit card number get stolen

My mom's credit card number was somehow stolen and the douche bag that stole it spent $900 and a New Mexico truck stop and about $350 at and Oklahoma truck stop.... her credit card wasn't stolen only her number... how the h**l was this done and how do I prevent it form happening to me???

  1. It was most likely "skimmed" at a restaurant or at another retail type of establishment. There are little machines that people can run your card thru that stores your cc number and then they can upload it to a computer and make credit cards out of it.

    The best piece of advice I have is to keep your card in your sight AT ALL TIMES! And check your statements every month! Good luck!


  2. No loss to you.  Just call the credit card company and get it all reversed.  That way the only people who get screwed are the businesses involved.

    That's how it works in this country.  Meanwhile, we let criminals get off easy and rehabilitate them in jails with tv's, weights, etc.

    I guess it's the socialist christian way!
