  1. through ultrasound but sometimes they just feel it and they guestamate but that really isn't that accurate :)

  2. They actually don't weigh the baby.

They take a complex system of measurements via ultrasound. They measure the circumfrence of the fetus's abdomen and head. They also measure femur length. I'm sure there are other measurements involved but unfortunately I don't know what they are.

  3. it is just a estimation and is not always right

  4. They don't actually weight them...  they estimate the weight based on the measurements they take during an ultrasound.

  5. They measure your stomach & tell you an estimate of how big the baby is based on the month you are in & how big he/she should be.

  6. its an estimate, even with an ultrasound its just a guess.

  7. I think its just estimates based on size of baby and what not.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to it if i were you though. they told me my first was 7lb13 then when he was born 2 weeks later he was 5lb 14.5.

    Good luck.

  8. they dont, its a guess. they told me my daughter would be about 8 lbs and she was only just over 6 lbs

  9. they just guess i was told to expect a 9pounder and my daughter was 3 days late and only weighed 6Ib 12oz's
