Question:

How does a flea bomb work?

I have had an absolutely horrible time trying to get rid of fleas in my house, they seem to have gone but there was one room which we could'nt open as our housemate was away, so will the 2 fleabombs that we set off-(one upstairs and one downstairs) still keep the fleas at bay? Would the smoke/smell have gone under the door of the locked room? I am terrified that we have a re-surgence!

  1. I'm sorry - chances are you will have a resurgence - the flea bombs only kill adults, not the eggs or larvae.  Once they hatch/grow up, you'll have fleas again.  If you have carpet, use a vacuum with a beater bar - it sucks up the larvae and damages them.  Use the hose attachment to vacuum all cracks and crevices - baseboards, between wooden floor boards, cushions of chairs/sofa, under fridge and oven, etc. Make sure you empty the vacuum outside afterwards - otherwise the fleas come back out . . .  You will probably have to bomb again - it might end up cheaper hiring a pro to spray - but make sure you get in writing what chemical he is using, and how it affect the fleas.

  2. Better be safe and bomb the room. The smoke has to reach the fleas. If they haven't hatched, nothing will kill them in the cocoon.

  3. THEY DON'T WORK. When my dog got flees thanks to a friends STUPID cat, we bombed the house like 10 times, and the only thing that worked was treating the dog and waiting til fall when all the fleas died off. It was such a pain.

  4. The flea bomb will saturate the air of the house with insecticide.  They are designed seep into cracks where most bugs live.  So it will most likely take car of your housemate's room too.

  5. i have something that DOES WORK

You keep being reinfested because your house has fleas.

Here is how to get rid of them (naturally)

    IF YOUR HOUSE HAS FLEAS….

I have a NATURAL remedy for getting rid of fleas in your house.

Go to the Store and buy some 20 Mule Team BORAX.

Then sprinkle it all over. Carpets, couch, bedding, pillows, pet beds, car, even wood floors. (NOT ON YOUR PET!)

    THEN VACCUME IT UP.

What Boax does is coats the eggs ... The eggs hatch deformed or unable to reproduce.

You will have to do this 2 or 3x about a week apart in order to get all the egg cycles.

FOR YOUR PET. Use the flea killer that is on the market or use a flea comb (this is also a head lice comb) especially for kittens or puppys who are too young to have insecticide put on them.

Kill the fleas that you find on the comb with soap or alco
