I didn't get to see the hit on Carson Palmer than broke his nose, but how do you even get a broken nose in football? That's what the facemask is for. Did the guy stick his hand in there while he sacked him or something?

  1. he plays for the bengals and you are surprised that he got a broken nose. the line sucks, hes lucky hes alive. he shouldnt have been playing in that game without any starting receivers out there they shouldnt have taken that kind of chance. bad coaching

  2. If someone gets hit hard enough the impact of the hit or the ground could smash the nose against the helmet/facemask causing the broken nose.

  3. depends on the type of faceguard, Linemen have the most protection while running backs and recievers need more vision so they have less cage to cover their face

  4. If he hit the ground face mask first, the helmet will ride down the front of his face and contact the bridge of his nose. i seen it happen, it looked like he landed straight down.

  5. if the player got hit hard the face mask will move and it will hit ur nose thuse braking their nose.

  6. gets someone pissed off and gets socked

  7. it could happen with someone getting their hand under there and hitting your nose but its more common to happen when a players helmet isnt tight enough and the impact of the collision can knock your helmet down on your face causing the forehead part of the helmet to slam down on your nose.

  8. Owen Daniels of the Houston Texans last season was a victim of the three on one slam that broke his nose.  It happens a lot more than you may think.

  9. when i played in high school i got a broken nose,  i think it might have been the guys hand went up under my mask.
