  1. First of all arm yourself with £1 coins, 50p pieces and 20p pieces.  Find an empty machine of the correct size for your load, put in washing, put in detergent and soft rinse in the compartments on top which are marked.  Select the type of wash i.e. Hot, warm, etc.  Add coins.  In the UK it is about £3 - £4 depending on the size of the machine.  Turn on.  The dryers usually take 20p pieces or 50p pieces but use loads of these coins as the launderette machines do not spin so fast as the domestic machines do.  Easy really, take a magazine to read and some sweets and enjoy a sit down and perhaps a nice chat with whoever else is in there.  I use Launderettes to wash my winter king size duvets which won't go into my machine at home.

  2. if you're not sure ask a member of staff

  3. Take your clothes in,

    pick an empty washer,

    put your clothes in it,

    add soap,

    add money,

and wait till it is done.

Works the same for a dryer.

  4. You just put quarters in it but first put your clothes and detergent in and then the quarters then turn it on.  ask the people who run it how much money it will cost you.  you do the same with the dryer.  put your clothes in the dryer and the money in and turn it on.
