  1. it runs at an speed of 300 to 400 km/hr.

  2. A basic rule of magnetism is that opposite poles attract each other, and like poles repel each other.  Thus if both the track and the train are magnetically positive (north) they will repel each other, and the train will "float" above the track with little or no friction.

The track also incorporates the functions of a "linear motor."  This incorporates the functions of an electric motor as if it had been "unrolled" into a straight line and pulls the train along continuously by switching the polarities of the magnets at high speed.

There is lots of technical information about maglev devices on the internet.  Do an internet search on "maglev" to find much more information.

  3. have yo ever tried to put two magnets together and have them push apart?

With computer controls and soshisticated electronics they very same principal can be applied to moving heavy objects.

There are electric magnets in the rail and also in the train.

By switching them on and off very very fast in sequence it can lift the train and then push it forward,

very simple in concept but difficult in application.

  4. it runs on principle of repelsion of two magnets with same poles facing each other

  5. Maglev stands for magnetic levitation.

It uses the principle of similar poles repel and linear motor.

The same polarity causes the train to float and the switching of poles causes it to move forward.

So if we consider the track and train to be two lines and 'N' and 'S' as the poles of a magnet, then it would look somewhat like this

    N S N S N S N S N S - Train

    N S N S N S N S N S - Track

Next instance it will switch and would be like this

    S N S N S N S N S N -Train

    S N S N S N S N S N - Track

Though it looks and sounds easy, its an engineering marvel. There are no real magnets, but electro magnets.

The only commercial Maglev is in Shanghai, connecting the international airport to a subway station on the other end of the city. The 45 mins -1 hour car journey is reduced to 8 mins flat, with speed touching 430/301(at night) km/hr.

  6. The link below answers all you questions about how a maglev train runs.

    Good luck

  7. based on semi-conductor repulsion theory...
