Be there for her when she needs you, but let her make her own decisions and respect them.  Trust her until she gives you reason not to.

Have better things to do, have a life of your own.  If you're single, have other women to do.  That way you'll have a more objective view of things, its easy to look at one girl as "the one" when you are only dating "one".

Back to your question, do the exact opposite of what your mother and other female friends tell you to do when it comes to women.  Trust me, it will feel strange at first but it works.  

By the way, how has all that "just be yourself" advice worked so far?  Banging the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders?  No? I didn't think so, time for a change!

Impossible . If she is on your case for being one way then will definitely be on your case for being the other way . There is no winning no way out . Just take it like a man .

Back off. Pick up the phone when she calls, but don't call her too much. Let her suggest when you guys go out. But basically, give her time to miss you.

It's very difficult or say next to impossible. Only experience shall teach you how to react in that particular moment. But do not expect to satisfy her fully as nobody is able to do this. You do best from your side and that is sufficient.
