It's probably best to start with a group that does things you like, it doesn't have to be structured, like an after-school club, but that's a good start too.

Remember you can't please all the people all the time.

Make good friends with people you want to spend your time with, and don't waste your time trying to be friends with everyone. It never works.

Well here is a SMALL guide:

1.Wear cool make-up as in lip stick,eye make-up,etc.

2.Dress cool,start a WHOLE new trend like maybe a mini skirt and a layerd top.

3.Don't let people walk all over you,always make sure you are never at the bottom of the list.

4.Always keep your head up high and smile like you own the place.

5.Never back down.

6.Start your own group and make people want to be in it.

7.Also at lunch sit with your group and ONLY your group.

8.Make sure you don't become to hated by people.

9.Make people want to be with you and act like them being with you is a hornor.

10.Make sure if someone if trying to say mean things to you gossip about them or spit something mean back.

dont try...ive seen ppl make fools of them selves trying to hard to be popular...its phisically impossible cuz theres no such thing! evry1 in the world has a different deffinition of popular. ppl call me popular but i dont think i m. lots of ppl know who i m and like my personality and talk to me if they r like walkin by but you can only have so many close frnds. i.e. i have bout 8 frnds that i m close with. but like lots and lots that chat with me or give a high5 as i walk by. im happy and don think i popular cuz lots o ppl hate me or dont kno me

What grade are you in? 6th? 7th? 8th? I just left middle school, and trust me, dont try to hard. If you try to hard, everyone will notice. I know this sounds lame, but you need to be yourself, and youll make friends. If you be something your not, you will have friends that you dont like, and pretend to like and wind up in high school pretending to be something youre not and it will ruin everything. =]

Okay so i am going into 7th.

At first i was terrified. [last year when i was entering 6th.]

&& i just said to myself that i wasn't going to loose myself.

So i was myself around everyone. && it sounds like a line but its not. Since the first day i made a lot of friends that i love dearlyy. && i am what some call popular i get invited to 8th. grade parties. a lot of people from all grades want to sit next to me at lunch. && im not bragging and im proud to say this; because i know that i never lost myself. I stayed the same 5'2 brunet girl i originally entered school with. I hope this helped x]

honestly, the way a girl was considered popular was if she made out with a lot people or acted 5lutty

of course all these other girls are gonna say "be yourself, and be smart" but seriously, that will only get you so far (which wont necessarily be "popular")

however, if you have a hotttt body, then being smart is sooooo much hotter and guaranteed youll get a "popular" dude to talk to you then you can "sit with them at the cool table" *giggle*

Of course be yourself!  Being part of a team would probably help you because you would get close to the people on the the sports team, cheerleading squad, band, majorettes, speech & debate team,class officer,a school club etc.That is my one regret that I did not get more involved in extra-curricular activities while in middle & high school.   If you become in something like that @ school you should have a lot of friends(which actually is more meaningful than being popular).  You may be surprised to know that some of those "popular" people may feel pretty lonely!!  

   Most of all DO NOT do certain things just be popular!! s*x, drugs, cigarettes, alcohol.. Don't Do it!   Stay true to yourself, because b4 u know it you will be in college & you will be so glad u did not give in !

Someday you will be an adult, and if you are any kind of decent person, it will make you sick -- the fact that you cared what those people thought of you.  I have been through middle-school, though it was called Jr. High at the time.  I was not  especially popular, though I was well liked.

I was friends with some of the popular kids.  I still am friends with some of them.  They fill my tires.  They check my radiator.  They plow my snow in the winter.

Don't worry so much about being popular.  Be Smart.  Be competent.  Be independent.  Be yourself.  Be Powerful.  Popular is a game for stupid people.  I eat those people.  Then I giggle myself to sleep.

Popularity, like fashion, is a game.  People who worry about popularity are cows.  They are there for the milking.
