How does a mobile number from india appear on one's caller display in north america/canada?

i believe someone called me from india, and i am in canada. the number simply appeared with (what i believe to be) the mobile access code: 9232 + phone number. There was no "+1", "0" etc. which i would normally expect. is this typical?

If someone calls from india 91 will appear and then mobile number which is 10 digits normally for india.

92 is countrycode who ever is called you from that country.

just googled it for you .. its  country code of pakistan.

+0091 is indian code.

well...my boyfriend lives in the UK while i am here in the US and his number shows up with an area code of 000.
