I know that there is a Yamaha Young Artist Competition, but I'm a little too old for that and I didn't find out about it until it was too late. Is there any other competition, etc. that leads to a similar distinction?

  1. Hello there.

I know one person who is a Yamaha Performing Artist.  He is a brass player....  playing trumpet.

He is not young.... he is a professional musician.... and Yamaha has recognized him as a Yamaha Artist and provides him with an instrument to play on.

You will have to contact Yamaha and ask their requirements.  You may have to fly there for an audition or send in a tape.   He went to them.   They will hear you play and make a decision upon your audition.... or at least this is how it worked for him.

Just give Yamaha a call.  They have offices in the US...  and can give you an answer over the phone.

Thanks for reading and I hope it helped.
