  1. Shanfye gave you good info.

If you are young, it would be a good idea to be an assistant coach for a while. That gives you both the opportunity to watch how a program is run and also give you something to put down on your resume when you apply for the job of head coach later on.

Here are some coaching resources that might help you: http://aescougarcheer.com/Cheer101/coach...

    Good luck! :^)

  2. Depends on where you want to coach.

If its a a high school level, you should contact the athletic director of the particular school to see if they need any coaches.  If they currently have a good staff you could contact those coaches to ask about volunteering to help out.  Its a good way to get your foot in the door.  The process in school districts is slow as you have to get clearances and be approved by the school board most of the time.

As far as a gym, you would most likely apply as you would for any other job.

Lots of Peewee teams out there are looking for a good peron to volunteer to coach the kids.  If you like little ones and can deal with a bunch of parents, then this may suit you as well.  Check out the are for these teams.

Other than that, knowledge is key.  Be well aware of safety regulations when it comes to cheerleading.  You can get safety certifies through AACCA, google that for more info.
