  1. Just flash your lights.............

  2. Ive never heard of a universal hand signal to warn someone that their lights are not on.  Perhaps you can just attempt to flag them down.  However, depending on where you are, there are probably more people driving than walking so you can be sure that someone will flash their lights to tell the other person their lights are not on.  I hope this helps.

  3. I have often pondered this in my car on the freeway.  It would be nice if you could walkee talkee the car, wouldn't it?  In order for what you're thinking to work, the person you're signaling would have to know what you were communicating; i.e. would have to know what you were signaling.  I barely know my bike hand signals, and I got behind the wheel drivers training! hehe.  Trying to communicate this to a moving vehicle from the sidewalk would prove difficult in today's economy.

You can always call 911 and submit a non-emergency fyi if you're terribly concerned about it. Otherwise, you can take comfort in knowing that if the street is busy, many drivers will notice also, since the vehicle is mostly illuminated by the drivers behind it. If it is not, however, then they either have a higher chance of not being seen.  If it's a one-way street, I wouldn't worry about it too much.  If they haven't noticed, the streets in your neighborhood might be illuminating the road enough for them to see (*which means other drivers can also see them), AND if it's a one way street, there's no concern for not seeing them in lane changes, since there wont be any. The only concern would be rear ending the fellow, but it's up to the driver behind him to have his own lights on so he can spot the vehicle before that happens.  I hope this helps calm your mind a bit. :)

  4. why do you think it is your job. the short fuse kids are on now ,it is dangerous to say anything.

  5. Perhaps with motion of your fingers you can close/open your fist to simulate flashing lights, while pointing at their lights with the other hand.

  6. You turn your headlamps off and on at least twice. flashing will confuse them into thinking theres a cop car in thier direction. Or just yell out, hey jack *** your lights are off.

  7. Well maybe there is, but when people sit behind me and in my mirror i see BLINK BLINK BLINK BLINK blinking headlights it pisses me off. I would have caught on eventually without there help.

  8. just flick your lights on and off maybe that will help
