How does a plant’s vascular tissue structure allow it to respond to changes in environmental conditions?

Hormones that are produced in one area of the plant can travel through the whole plant via the vascular system.  So, when one part of the plant is exposed to a stimulus, like light or damage, the response can be transmitted to the entire plant.
