How does a power of attorney become a misnomer?

i want to know this because i was the attorney and excuted the genral power of attorney, now the donee has gone to solicter, and trying to contest it ,the original solicter who drew up the power of attorney has seid it was a genral and specific power ,and the solicter who is acting on behalf of the donne is saying you cant have both, genral and specific powers togther and it is a misnomer, if that makes sense

I am not sure I under stand your question, but I have a p.o.a on my grandmother which is called a durable power of attorney and you have broader powers,mostly meaning you are controlling all their affairs a general power of attorney is limited to what ever is on the papers and some things such as bank accounts or property may not be in your control, and most places will not honor a general one. go to law guru. com and you can find a lot of info about what you are asking. good luck.
