freecoaster hub for a bmx bike work compared to a cassete? a cassete is loud and making a clicking noise when its made i understand why but i can't explain it and if forces your cranks backwards when you go backwards but freecoasters are quiet when you ride and it doesn't force your cranks backwards.....how does that work?

  1. On a freewheel hub the freewheel mechanism is in the cog. On a cassette hub the mechanism is in the hub. A cassette hub is lighter and should be more durable. Function wise, they should be identical.
