  1. If he comes into the game with his team losing and they score and take the lead during his time on the hill.

  2. Well, lets say the Cubs are tied with the Brewers 2-2.  Marmol come in during the bottom of the 8th and works a one two three inning.  now in the top of the 9th,  Geovany Soto hits a solo shot putting the cubs up 3-2. Kerry Wood comes in the bottom of the 9th to get the save.

Now Marmol would get the victory because he is the pitcher of record because he was the last pitcher on the mound when the cubs took the lead.

  3. If he exits the game with the team losing or tied.  And the team scores and takes the lead the very next inning and holds on to the lead for the rest of the game.

  4. When the starting pitcher can't get the decision via tie of deficit, the reliever comes in and the offense scores enough runs to get the lead and the reliver gets credited the win.

  5. If the team is losing or tied and the team Starts to win and keeps that lead then he wins

  6. If a relief pitcher comes into a game and his team is either behind or tied and his team goes ahead and stays ahead until the end of the game he will get the win.
