  2. If the setting is cheerful from colors, lighting and music it creates a place for the baby to feel warm and cared for. Plus it needs to be clean and the right temperature for safety and health.

  3. well there's obviously safety factors and hygiene etc.

    Good light and ventilation is important.

    Use of colours in the environment (greens and blues for relaxed environment).

    Toys and equipment should be accessible to children.  ie at a low level

    Setting should reflect the cultures of the children eg. multicultural artworks, asian cushions, cultural (including indigeneous) music etc

    Plants in hanging baskets clean the air and make the centre look less "institutional"
