in a six deck shoe for black jack, do they mix up all 6 decks in one big pile altogether, or do they mix up each deck seperately and put them on top of each other?

if they mix them altogether, doesnt that mean that you have a chance of getting 2 or 3 of the exact same card in 1 hand

  1. All 6 decks shuffled together.

Always a chance of anything, but there are lots of high cards.

Odds are lousy with that many decks.

  2. All six decks are mixed together.  You could get 2 or 3 of the exact same card in the same hand, but it is unlikely.  In Blackjack it is irrelevant since suit and rank don't count.

AJ of diamonds is the same as AT off suit.  Two identical queen of hearts is the same as a ten and a king off suit.

  3. All six decks are mixed together,  it is a possibility that you can be dealt 2 or three of the exact same card, and it happens quite often.

The number of decks can effect playing strategy so make sure you play according to the rules and the number of decks the game is dealt from.

  4. It depends on the casino, most do the all mixed together in the shoe because it neutralizes cheating, and it lowers the odds of the player winning.  However, there are casinos that use six decks, mix them individually then randomly stack one on top of the other.  Either way it is possible to get two of the same card.

  5. all mixed together.

    yes, it's possible.
