How does a sociological explanation of racial prejudice differ from a psychological?

  1. sociological will refer to the society as a whole and derive explanations from there whereas the psychological exlanation focuses in on the individual and the explanation of their racial prejudice


  2. Sociology is the study of relationships between people, so in essence, it could be used as a sub for the word community.

    Psychology is the study of the way one's (not plural) brain works.

    So. A sociologist would say something like this: "Some people are prejudice so they can be accepted by their neighbors." While a psychologist would say: "Some people are prejudice because they like convenient things. It is convenient that everyone around is prejudice."

  3. I thik sociological has something to do with the society generally and culture, and a psychological explanation would emphasize the individual and a possible mind/ soul/ spirit disorder.
