How does a teacher's approach to literacy affects the literacy and language development of the student?

  1. Children learn by imitating those around them.  Go figure.


  2. A teacher's love for reading is contagious to the children, and in turn, will encourage them to develop a love for reading. When they develop a love for reading, they practice more, and become better readers. If the teacher hates/dreads/shows no interest in books, etc., then the children will do the same.
