  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.torrent

    try the above link!!might help!!

bittorrent, utorrent are eg. of torrent sites

  3. Utorrent

Also use Bit Che to search for Torrents.

Sometimes they can. Torrents can sometimes be packed with Viruses and Trojans. if you have a good antivirus like Kaspersky or bitdefender you should be fine.

Bit Che lists torrents in order of most popular so you will be less likely to get a virus from the most popular ones.

  4. You need to get a bittorrent client.

Then you go to torrent search sites to find the content that you want.  This article lists the popular torrent sites and their features:

Once you find the content you want, you download a small file (the torrent) and open it with your bittorrent client.  This will start the transfer of the content that you want.

Torrents can be safe if you read comments and ratings at the search sites to make sure they are OK.

  5. There are pros and cons using torrent to download. The pros, you will get a very quality file and later you can convert it into DVD. While the cons, it will take a longer time cause it’s totally depends on how many seeder at the point of time. I noticed that it will finish faster if you using torrent to download English TV Series and movies.

Below are some guide for those who wants to download movies/songs using Torrent

    1. Install Bittorrent (http://www.bittorrent.com/ )

    2. You use torrent search engine to find .torrent text files around the Internet. These .torrent files vary from 15kb to 150kb file size, and are published by serious Torrent sharers around the world and popularly known as a seeder. Example of torrent search engine are http://www.mininova.org/ , http://www.torrentportal.com/ , http://thepiratebay.org and etc.

    3. You download the desired .torrent file to your folder.

    4. You open the .torrent file into your torrent client that you just installed. Usually, this is as simple as a a double-click on the .torrent file icon, and the client software auto-launches.

    5. The Torrent client will now talk to a tracker server for 2 to 10 minutes. Specifically, the client and tracker server will search for other users who have the same exact .torrent file as you.

    6. As the tracker locates Torrent, each user will be automatically labeled as either a “leech/peer” or as a “seed” (users who have only part of the target file, versus users who have the complete target file). As you might guess, the more seeds you connect to, the faster your download will be. Commonly, 10 peers/leeches and 3 seeders is a good enough for downloading a single song/movie.

    7. The client software then begins the transfer. As the name “sharing” implies, every transfer will happen in both directions, “down” and “up” (leech and share).

    8. Once the transfer is complete, leave your Torrent client software running for at least two hours. This is called “seeding”, where you share your complete files to other users.

THERE IS NO TORRENT FILE OR PROGRAM THAT CAN HARM YOUR PC!

    =)
