Question:

How does a trainee accountant become effective in their job , invoicing , analysing sales , giving advice ???

I dont know what I am supposed to be really doing because I am supposed to be a very good accountant because the company accountant is sick and I dont know when he is coming back, if I am not effective the company could go down ,if we get audited by the tax authority

  1. d**n hard question! at this point i'm sure the company is counting on you so that means you are welcome there...so be honest with your peers and lead a thinktank no matter how small, to overcome the adversities here. there must be a wealth of knowledge at your disposal...the real question is how to tap into that....when you get to work keep your ears open, ask questions, take good unbiased advice, and keep a positive attitude...stay away from people that carry small beefs about others working there. your job is to hold the department together until your mentor returns. make sure when this person returns they have something solid to work with. don't try to change the program! support it!
