I've found a tilt/trim for my motor and was wandering how to install it to my 75 johnson.

  1. The tilt and trim is made to bolt on to the mounting bracket.  If my memory serves me you have to remove a couple tilt shocks and the trailering bracket, but it's not a difficult job.  the motor has a wiring harness that plugs in to a harness that mounts on the dash.  I don't think it hooked to the throttle in those days.  Good luck.

  2. It's a major task> the mount has to be dissembled> If the unit is not for your yr than you may have issues>You have to drive out the pins that hold the piston in> Best to get a blow up of the parts list as that shows all the parts>& where they go> Did you get the electrical switches & harness> control box with trim switch> Or just put a 3 way toggle in>
