How does a twelve year old start a babysitting business?

My little sister really wants to start a babysitting business cause she LOVES kids and i was wondering how would she do that and how much to charge??

Take a class at a local hospital on CPR and or babysitting classes.

Often this impresses parents and makes you more ready to handle emergencies if they occur.

contact the local Mother Day out program, often they are moms needing help, Holiday shopping times and New Years Eve are also good times, Most charge by the hour.

I pay $ 5.00 an hour per kid for just running to the store or doing day time shopping and etc.

For an evening out until around midnight or 1 AM or all night

if you spend the night, I have 2 kids and I pay about $50-60.00

which works to be 25.00-30.00 per kid.

Make sure you know what others in your area are charging ask around,

Make sure you set rules, make sure the parents leave you numbers of who to contact in an emergency and all of that, Make sure you know what their home rules are, can you eat there for example? Do they want you to use the stove or microwave etc?

Is there an Aunt or Grandma you can call if you can't get hold of them?

She would start babysitting for neighbors, friends, and family - people she knows.  Then if she's good at it, they may start recommending her to their friends, and she'll get more business as word of mouth spreads.

She might want to take some first aid classes, and CPR, so that she can handle emergencies if necessary.
