How does a usb stick work?

I would like to put my files on to a usb stick so that I can use them an any computer.

Plug in your USB stick into the USB port of your computer (it may be either available on the front or on the back of your box). Now open My Computer or Windows Explorer. You may be able to see a new drive with label 'Removable disk (x:)', except that x would be some drive letter. Double click this drive to open it and use it like any other drive/folder in you PC to copy or move files.

put it in the usb drive and then go to my computer and it will have something like drive f or drive e or d and it will say usb mass storage or something like that. you can drag and drop files straight onto the usb stick. please pick me for best answer
