Question:

How does a venus flytrap work?

It just doesn't make any sense how a plant can move...

  2. This is a very good question and there isn't a definitive answer.  I did a ton of research on this and wrote up my findings here:

    Basically it is thought that the color of the trap draws the insects in because Venus Fly Traps really have no odor.  Once the insect is drawn in, it licks on the mucilage that the trap secretes.  As it does this, it typically trips one or more of the trigger hairs on the inner surface of the trap causing the trap to spring shut.

  3. the insect is attracted to the scent of the plant when it lands on the plant it triggers two fine hairs one on each leaf which closes the trap the insect is then slowly digested

    as to how can a plant move flowers open  whe the sun comes up and close when it sets try looking for an open daisy when its dark
