How does a wedding held at noon sound? It would be in March...(see details)?

I'm shopping around the idea of a noontime wedding on Saturday. The *masses* would be invited, it's outside in a park in Los Angeles (so it prob wont rain)...then the large reception would be in the adjacent community room. it would be informal, and not super casual, but definitely not formal. My dress would be floorlength, made out of eyelet.

Later on that night, at around 7PM...family would be invited to a nice, intimate dinner at a local restaurant.

How does that sound?

  1. Sounds like it would mess up your whole day!  I would push it on towards 2 or 4!  You would still have plenty of time for the wedding and the reception and then that special dinner with your family.  7 hours is a lil much for the whole thing and you are going to be WORN out!  The actual wedding part will only take about 30-45 minutes...average is 30 minutes and then the reception...a couple of hours would be plenty!  Plus noon is the hottest part of the day...I dunno, just think about it.

    Congrats!

  2. Personally, I would skip the 7pm reception/dinner.

Serve brunch immediately following the ceremony.  Mimosas, Bloody Marys, juices, coffee.

Maybe a menu similar to this?  Or parts of this?

Have an intimate family dinner when you return from the honeymoon.  You will be tired after the wedding.  Have an intimate family dinner at a later date, if you still want a dinner.

  3. Sounds like fun to me.

I have no plans that day....
