How does a woman feel her biological clock ticking?

When you reach a certain age I understand that the body sends signals to urge you to reproduce. How do these signals manifest themselves and do any women out there have any stories or anecdotes about this period in thier life? Is it true that it can drive women crazy?

  1. You do realize, I hope, that that's a metaphorical expression.

I don't seem to have a biological clock in the sense you describe (there's the sense in which the clock just means females can't reproduce all their lives, the way men can, but become infertile).

What I've seen and heard from many women is that they think about it a lot, and that they feel a need to have a baby. They describe emotional "aches" and such.

Actually, literally "drive" them crazy? Probably not.

  2. It is just a saying, women don't actually have the urge to pop a few kids out right before menopause. It is just that women know they have a deadline to have kids by. Everyone has the urge to reproduce. It is just kind of a funny expression people use, it does not literally happen.

  3. I'm 40, and I'm yet to hear from my biological clock. I think I was born without one, lol!
