How does a yahoo group member edit their profile to reflect their name?

  1. well, you may run into resistance if you require this. it's not recommended for anyone to have their names on their profile for privacy and on line safety. if you're going to require this, you may loose members.

    in the area's of real name and nick name is where their names will appear


  2. Here is how members can edit their public profiles to include names:

    Go to http://my.yahoo.com and sign in.

    Click on "My Account" near top of screen.

    Enter your password again.

    On the far right side of page, click on "Edit/Create Profiles."

    Near top of page, to the right of the profile you wish to edit, click on "Edit".

    Click on "Edit Profile Information" tab.

    In the field "Real Name", type in your first and last name.  

    Scroll to bottom of page and click on "Save Changes".

    Your members might edit their public profiles to reflect their "names" but that does not guarantee they will actually be using their real names. A person can say their name is James Bond and really be Suzanne Smith.

    I hope you do not lose members by this requirement.
