How does acid washing a floor go about? ?

do they really use an acid base? does it burn the top layer of cement? what does it cost?

  1. it's done using Muriatic Acid. it etches the concrete surface so that paint or sealant will adhere. it is a DIY project. you can get the Muriatic acid at a box store, or hardware, paint store. you just spray it on or mop it on, let it soak, scrub with a stiff floor broom, and hose it off. directions will be on the bottle.

Acid wash is basically mopping(swabbing the decks Captain) carefully so the  acid does not splash upward to your skin.     The acid reacts with the lime in the cement on the top layer, neutralizing it.(acid +base=neutal).   Which is then rinsed off and let to dry.  Then paint can be applied.     Lime is what causes paint to peel off(not acid)
