How does acquiring Dave Kingman .......errrrr Adam Dunn make the D'Backs a better team? Manny is way better?

Dave Kingman was a righty, Dunn should fit right in. his 233 average is exatctly what the Dbacks are hitting as a team, noone on the DBacks has the power or clutch as Dunn has. so this acquisition should make the NL west an interesting two team race down the stretch

The DBacks finally get the power hitter they were looking for. They desperately need a bat in their lineup. He strikes out a lot, but hey, he does still hit for a decent average, and he has a whole lot of power. They need someone with power badly.

Manny is the better power hitter, but he was never offered to the DBacks. Manny also does not have the pitching that Dunn will have to support. Manny has to provide a lot more runs than Dunn will have to because the pitching from the DBacks is so much better overall. The Dodgers were a .500 team before getting Manny, and they are a .500 team since getting Manny. So obviously he hasn't helped out all too much overall.

Ya manny is definately a way better player and hitter, but thats all the dodgers have. I guess you can include Matt Kemp, but who else!

The dbacks added Dunn for power and for RBIs. They can live with SO's as long as they produce with RISP which the dodgers arent doing.

Because offense is offense, I don't see how a guy that goes 40/100 every year could make a team worse, especially to a team as offensively changed as a Hudson-less dbacks.  The last time I checked adding Manny wasn't an option to AZ and with Hudson done the rest of the season they had to do something or just hand the division to LA on a silver platter.

the dodgers have a way better bullpen then the dbacks and they have the best ERA in the majors. sounds to me that you dbacks fans are getting confused with who has a better overall pitching staff.

manny is a better player then dunn but the dbacks offense is horrible and dunn will help them because he has prostegious power and even though he has a low average he does sport a very good on base percentage.   It makes them a better team because the pitching of the dbacks in my mind is better then the dodgers.  Both offenses will probabally end up being middle of the league for the rest of the season but i think the dbacks pitching puts them over the top and helps them win the division
