  1. As the population increases, farm lands are taken out of production for houses, roads, airports, etc.  More pressure is put on agriculture to supply more food with less land.  In the US agriculture has been able to increase production/acre enough to keep up with the increased needs with less land.  But it has changed agriculture from the traditional family farms to corporate farms.  

    in countries where agriculture has not been able to meet the needs of increased population, famine and starvation has resulted.


  2. more people, lesser land....lesser land = no space = no agricultural activities.

  3. simply, less fields when population goes up because of subdivisions and city development that causes it to cut through fields which decreases crop yield.
