  1. made from quartz...and amethyst is my birthstone

Over millions of years ..... soil filled with chemicals and gases, minerals and sallts, compacts in the earth ..... these different substances get trapped and compacted together over millions of years and, depending on how much of each of these substances is trapped in the compaction in an area, will determine what crystals, metals and minerals you find today .....
