Both English-speaking and non-English, how would you describe American accents in your native country/language?

  1. very energetic I dont know how to explain it but you lot show your emotions in the way you speak. Im from london and sad happy and angry we always sound the same. Compare the news in the UK to the USA UK sound soo formal boring dull America bright energetic loud its as if you lot love talking. Why do African americans say 'you what im saying' at the end of many of there sentences the ones involved in Hip Hop in NYC because I watched a dvd and I swear everyone kept using that phrase it would be ignorant to say all but on that dvd the people loved the phrase. I dont like the southern accent sounds like they have something in their throat and they just sound rude sorry to say this but dumb as well Im not calling them dumb but I just think they are farmers but some sound normal Bush sounds soo funny lol like a man trying to put on a girls voice or he ran out of helium. West seems relaxed slower cooler & East which i like New york/Boston sounds like they speak brutal & they sound the smartest and sound powerfull. Ive never been to USA but Canada & USA sound the same to me.

  2. I live in Australia and the Americans that I hear (apart from on TV) are usually loud. There is a real emphasis on the letter R. I find that African-American accent is also totally different and it sometimes sounds like they are not speaking English at all and I find them hard to understand.
