How does an image have a URL???

Question

ok i feel kinda dumb asking this but on a couple of website it askes for the image i want's URL and i get TOTALLY confused!!

Every graphic on a page has its own URL. They are all combined when a page is created. By right clicking on a photo you can copy the image location. If you enter the URL for a photo at the top of the screen then only the photo will be displayed.
