how does a probation officer or parole officer benefits from an understanding of nonverbal communications when interviewing an offender or parolee. Include in your explanation a description of certain signs or behaviors that could “tip off” an officer and indicate how the interviewer might respond and why

Actually, officers wear special glasses when they are interviewing offenders, and these glasses allow the officer to see the offenders aura.  Scientist have found that when people lie or when they are being deceptive their aura changes from blue to red; this is why some cops wear those mirror glasses.  Up until now this has been the best kept secret in law enforcement, so please don't spread this information around in your police science class.  The future of the the Western World depends on you!
