How does bail work for prisoners?

Is it only before the initial trial? I used to think that you could get out of jail early if you had money..Is that not the case?

The judge posts a bail. If someone pays it u get realesed but have to show up for the next court. If u dont they will issuee a warrant for ur arrest and wont get the bail BaCk.. Hope that helped and answered ur question
