Question:

How does being Active Duty Army work?

Im confused about what im gonna do after Basic and AIT. I know that ill probably be back home for no more than two months. But what do I do after that?? Can anyone tell me anything? And my recruiter is out of town so i cant ask him.

  1. What do you mean back home for no more than 2 months? You won't be home very often at all and if you're concerned about being at home you should join the National Guard and work one weekend a month, you might be glad you did.  


  2. At the very end of AIT, you will get orders to your first duty station. You may have a chance to go home and do hometown recruiting, but that is only 10 days. Not quite sure where you're getting the idea that you will be home for 2 months. You will proceed to your duty station and to your new unit to do the job you were trained to do.

  3. After AIT you get sent to wherever the Army needs your MOS.  You can take about 10 days leave, with few more if you take the hometown recruiting option.

      

  4. after ait, you go to your duty station...what you were trained for... i dont see you going home for two months after ait...  see you in iraq soon...
