  1. I'm guessing you've never been in the military.  It means he loves and is proud of his country (jury still out on Obama).  I think the difference here is McCain is trusted flying a US plane, where Obama isn't.

  2. Your little comment is completely asinine. By making that statement you are belittling the great efforts of many soldiers who become POWs because they are doing some of the most dangerous work at their locations. You can insult the policy issues of the candidates, you can insult the religious aspects if you so choose, and you can insult their voting record, but do not make it sound like being a POW makes you a lesser person.

And being a POW doesn't make him a good leader - the fact that he put his life on the line, was tortured day after day for five years and still kept the military's secrets shows his loyalty to this country, though, and you should, at the very least, appreciate his efforts.

  3. It doesn't

  4. you cannot talk about a Republicans military career.  Only a Democrats military career.  And if you don't find anything about the Democrats career while in the military, you are then allowed to make things up.   These are the rules and they must be followed.

  5. You liberals truly dazzle me with your disrespect!

  6. Good Question enough about the POW and more about the Issues of today

  7. It doesn't. That would mean every soldier that's ever been a POW should be elected to office.

Of course I respect McCain for that but being a POW doesn't give you leadership skill. I think the McCain camp uses this to claim he is more patriotic than Obama.

  8. I think this question is very disrespectful to all POW/MIAs... Give the guy a break. He's a veteran and fought for this country. If you don't like him, that's fine; you're allowed to dislike the guy, but have some respect.

  9. you mean as opposed to....

    organizing communities????

  10. That is pretty disrespectful.  I am voting for Obama too, but the fact that he was a POW and survived makes him at the very least a hero, whom I respect immensely but I do not believe he is the best candidate to be the president.

  11. Dude, that's just wrong.  And I think you know it.  I am no McCain supporter, but I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the way he put his life on the line for this country.

  12. Explain how Obama's "military" experience makes him a better choice for the job of command and chief of the US military?  Is planning block parties that much more difficult than sitting in a POW camp?

  13. McCain was permitted to go but he chose to stay with his men. That is a very noble and courageous thing to do.

The fact that he was ever in the military fighting for his country is what makes him a good leader. He has shown his loyalty by action not words.

What can you say of Obama???

    Yes, that's what I thought, you can't.

  14. John , it doesn't . I am proud that Mccain did not " crack " . But , in answer to the second part of your question , Being a good leader truly has nothing to do with getting captured by the Viet Cong .

  15. When your plane gets shot down by an enemy plane it's pretty tough to land in a safe place.  What makes McCain a better leader is the sole fact that Obama has nothing.  This isn't about being a prisoner of war, this is about having more experience with war situations than Obama.

  16. What does leadership have to do with being captured? You pathetic liberals are so shrill it's disgusting, (You can look up "shrill")

  17. Well. He was shot down and broke his arms and other bones from the fall, kind of hard to avoid that sort of situation, unless you dodge the draft like Biden, or just plain don't serve like Obama.

It makes you a good leader because it shows that you are about America before anything else, including yourself. When you refuse to be sent home early because you follow America's code of conduct saying leave in the order of capture, you are putting America first. When you don't come home and bad-mouth your country and it's soldiers, like Kerry, that is putting America first. There is no way that being a soldier, and a POW, doesn't make you a better leader then the guy who hasn't done either.

  18. First of all I respect John McCain's military career and salute his courage, but the fact is he has not talk about no issues that affect me and you and how to fix them. To be the leader of  this country you have to help the citizens here first.  I listen to his speech last night but couldn't figure out what he was going to do for this nation, but keep us in Iraq for 100 more years.

  19. POW or being black is not ticket to Presidency , You need substance and Obama has that .

  20. that is truly disrespectful. you may not like him but he served our country.

  21. It instills maturity, leadership, compassion towards your fellow man as well as humility.  If you did not hear his speech, being a POW was not the reason for him to seek the presidency.  It just prepared him for his political life and campaign because those traits kept him going while he was a captive.

I don't think he was the leader of his squadron when he was shot down anyways.....

  22. It doesn't necessarily. It depends on your behavior while you were a prisoner.

What it does speak to is how you handle yourself in adversity.

  23. Don't be a d-bag. I would like to have seen you go to Vietnam and fight like McCain did. Way to support America and our troops, you loser.

  24. How does being a good speaker make you a good president?

  25. It doesnt, it just means the VIET CONG caught him while he was BOMBING THEIR COUNTRY.  He's just he average old white guy running for office.  If he were Gulliani, he'd say 9/11  9/11 9/11 when you ask him about his policies.  All McCaveman says is "I was a p.o.w."

When asked about his plan for HEALTHCARE, he said "well, I was in another country's healthcare plan for 5 years", referring to his time as a p.o.w.  OLD ANGRY MEN should NOT be running this country.  see d**k Cheney for examples.
