  1. It is not just coke. It is the caffeine. Caffeine and alcohole both dehydrate. That is why if you go out and drink then you should have a big glass of water before going to bed. You will find that you feel much better in the morning.

Yes, you are correct that there is water in the coke and your body does use it. However a single coke, coffee, tea, or energy drink won't hurt. Just don't take any of this before a workout though because then it will. Well, I drink an energy drink and 16 ounces of water before any of my workouts so that is fine.

However, since water runs though your system sooner and quicker the water in the drink is usally being disposed of and the caffeine is still behind. So the caffeine that is behind will dehydrate you unless you off set it with more water.

  2. actually if you read the packaging now it says coke is hydrating on the twelve packs.  (at least here in Fort Polk la it does)

  3. I heard that caffeine supposidly dehydrates you.

Lately, they've been saying that anything that contains water  re-hydrates you.

The FDA and the medical profession, change their minds every 2 minutes.

( depends on who's paying them more).

  4. Cause it's like Beer; the more you drink, the more you pee; the more you pee, the better chances of peeing more than you've takened in; it acts as a Water Pill.  I know, cause I drink plenty of it !!!

  5. All the sodium in coke
