  1. Colleges are required, by law, to accept all students that meet their entrance requirements and can benefit from an education.  Attending a "support class" such as a transition class is an asset and should not cause any professor to "look (down) upon" you.

  2. Colleges do not look at whether or not you have a support class. They look at your grades. And they are required to offer you the support or accommodations that are on your current IEP. If you are on a regular education track, you should experience no problems with getting into college if you meet their requirements.

    If you don't have a good grade point average, consider attending a community college first. This makes for a much smoother transition to a four year college because some of the requirements are waived, such as the grade point average.

    Whatever route you choose, the college will have an office that supports kids with disabilities. Find them on campus if you feel you are going to need extra support. Or not, as you see fit.
