How does conflict alter views of people and countries, thus leading to war?

  1. Conflicts lead to distrust and suspicion. After a conflict, you are looking over your shoulder and around every corner, expecting it to happen again. You find what you go looking for. You don't notice things that are contrary to your suspicions. Or you refuse to believe there are no ulterior motives, or hidden agenda's to kind acts, because you believe it isn't in their nature. Think I'm kidding?  How did people start looking at (middle eastern)cab drivers, convience store clerks, truck drivers, and neighbors that have been there for years, after 9/11. They had nothing to do with it, but the suspicion is still there. The suspicion leads to fear, and fear leads to prejudice and more conflict resulting in war.


  2. because people are used to a certain way, a culture, a belief. when someone differs with that comfortable norm, they become angry and lash out. religion is a great example of this.
