How does contour plowing and terrace farming help to prevent soil erosion?

Plowing of any type does not prevent erosion; it accelerates it.

simple. Terrace farming are step-like features. These step-like are usually cut out of mountainous areas. Using these method, it prevents rain from washing away soil, hence preventing soil erosion.

Next, contour plowing. Contour farming/plowing is the practice of plowing a slope across in contours. These will prevent the rain water to slow down, therefore reducing soil erosion.    :)

These 2 method have similar purpose. But if i were to choose the most efficient method? Terrace farming is the matter way to go..
