Question:

How does counting cards help with hit or stand?

I usually play the 6-deck BlackJack, and I usually bet 5x the minimum bet when the true count is +3 or higher. But how does this number help me decide whether to his or stay exactly? This information would be useful when I have 14,15, or 16. Thanks! :)

  1. It's been awhile since I messed around with card counting but if I remember correctly the only change at +3 would be to stand on 16 vs a 10/face up card if surrender is not an option.

All the normal hits/stays still apply to 14, 15, 16 at this count.

I also believe it becomes proper to double 9 vs 2 thru 7 instead of the normal 3 thru 6 (six decks) . Stand on 12 vs 3 ? Maybe.

If you search around the internet you can probably find a +3 strategy guide among others.
