  1. Culture says what is good, bad, risky, taboo, or prohibited. This, in turn, determines how we see the world. Here is an example. In some countries the picture on the can is what you are eating. The next time you are in a grocery store look at baby food. No one would buy baby food in those countries with a picture of a baby on the side of it. Here's another example. People have a difference tolerance for sweets. So, Coke is brewed differently from country to country based on the local culture (sweeter in some, less sweet in others). If a marketer simply assumes everyone is like us, they will quickly find themselves out of business in some countries.
