  1. RC is a great cruise line for family's - as well as Disney.  And Disney does have a soda card too - it is not free.

Disney ships have all Disney entertainment, where as RC has a more general entertainment.

RC has a casino on the ship - Disney does not.

RC has more bars, specialty restaurants - Disney has 3 dining rooms that you go to and one specialty restaurant.

I've been on both - and would do both again.

  2. I have been on both as well and would also do both again.  Disney is more of an expensive cruise and they are worth every penny.  Their private island is immaculate and awesome.  You cant beat the disney franchise either.  If your into the characters disney is the only show in town.

  3. It depends on what type of vacation you are looking for.  RC caters to a more active, middle-aged crowd.  There's a rock climbing wall on almost every ship, lots of sports activities, etc.

On RC, you're food and most entertainment will be covered.  You would have to pay for alcoholic drinks, soda (but they have a soda pkg that gives you unlimited soda/juice), gambling, Bingo, spa treatments, and anything you do ashore.  The recommended amount for gratuities is $9.75 per person, per day.

Royal Caribbean has a more modern fleet (with ice skating rinks, boxing rings, cool nightclubs, fancy restaurants) and visit more destinations.  Disney is ... well .... Disney. I you're kids are dying to see Mickey Mouse, go with Disney.  Interesting fact, however, is that the RC kid's program is the highest rated in the entire cruise industry (yes, even above Disney).
