  1. There are ALOT of Nigergian scam artist that "spoof" fake emails to grab a person's password and ID.  From there, they hijack an account and then bid on random EXPENSIVE items.  Which causes that person's account to be banned.

There are also alot of scams.  Nigerians will contact you and ask you to pay outside of paypal and end your item ASAP and offer and CRAZY amount of money.  When they pay..they send you a fake confirmation email which never goes through paypal and then you ship out your item and they rip you off.

(They also get to your paypal, when they get your ebay account...they make spoof emails for both.)

I believe that is how most get banned.  However, some people just get banned from selling and not following their rules.  Or making another account and bidding on their own item just to hike the sells.

You have to be very careful on ebay.  Read up on ALL the scams and rules.  I personally think ebay should take the time to let new comers know about everything UP front.

I had to learn the hard way, almost got scammed 3 times.

  2. If you s***w up so badly on eBay/Paypal (same company) that they de-register you, you  are not allowed to rejoin.

They can tell from name, address, IP address, bank account and credit card numbers.

People have been banned by having relatives who have been banned signing on to their home computers during a visit...or by children/parents sharing the same address.
