    liquifaction can also cause great damage to coastal regions (with underylying sand) as well as wetlands.  Liquifaction is the process of the sand particles becoming sorted so that a low water table will actually rise to the surface and make it seem that the land is sinking...

    Broken down trees can affect a forest

    Tsunamis from an undersea earthquake can damage or destroy coastal habitats

    Fires can burn forests or other areas.....
