  1. You include images of posters around the setting of children with specials needs.  You introduce toys of special needs people in your tiny world ie someone in a wheel chair.  Include dolls in your home corner which special needs ie a doll which looks like it has downs syndrom.  During story time include books which show people with special needs and explains to the other children how they are still normal and acceptable.  Point out differences in all of them ie colour of skin, colour of eyes etc this makes it more acceptable.  Introduce puzzles with pictures of people with special needs and so on.  At circle time talk about people they may know who has a special need and how this effects their lives and explain which things would make it better for them and ask what it would be like for them if they had this special need.

  2. Not all people learn at the same speed.

People with special needs require more patience when imparting information or responding.

Visual, tactile and music clues can help them a lot.

The implementation of the equal opportunity act is slow to take hold in the special needs areas.
